Where architecture
meets the tropics.
A boutique hotel shaped by the dialogue between architecture, landscape and tropical living.
Set within the tropical landscape of Playa Esmeralda, Interfaz Tropical explores the hotel as an interface between architecture and nature.
Rather than separating interior and exterior, the project creates a sequence of open, shaded and planted spaces where landscape becomes part of the architecture itself. Courtyards, filtered views, covered terraces and generous openings establish a continuous relationship with vegetation, daylight and the surrounding coastline.
The result is a boutique hospitality experience shaped by openness, materiality and a slower way of inhabiting the tropics.

THE STRATEGY
Designing thresholds
not boundaries.
Solid volumes are interrupted by patios, openings and planted voids that allow landscape, daylight and air to move through the architecture.
Interior spaces extend towards terraces and gardens, while vegetation moves inward, creating a gradual transition between enclosure and openness.
MATERIALITY
A material language of the tropics.
A restrained palette of mineral surfaces and concrete is softened by warm timber, woven fibres and natural textiles.
Rather than relying on decorative references to place, the interiors express their tropical context through light, texture, vegetation and materiality.
HOSPITALITY EXPERIENCE
Living in between.
Shared spaces are conceived as part of a continuous guest journey.
The lobby becomes an open tropical living room, social spaces extend into gardens and terraces, and planted courtyards create quieter moments of intimacy — allowing guests to experience the hotel through a sequence of transitions rather than enclosed rooms.
THE GUEST EXPERIENCE
Framing the landscape.
Guestrooms balance intimacy with openness through natural materials, filtered daylight and a calm, neutral palette.
Large openings connect each room to terraces, vegetation and views beyond, allowing the changing light and tropical surroundings to become part of the interior atmosphere.
Architecture as a way of experiencing place.
Interfaz Tropical is conceived not as an object within the landscape, but as a framework through which it can be experienced — bringing architecture, interiors and nature together in a contemporary interpretation of tropical hospitality.
