El Rinconcito Mix brings Latin American identity into a contemporary Brooklyn setting.
The project reinterprets the warmth, colour and familiarity of the traditional neighbourhood restaurant through a more contemporary spatial language — creating a place that feels expressive, welcoming and rooted in culture.

THE CONCEPT
Identity at
the storefront.
The façade becomes the restaurant’s first expression of identity.
A bold graphic frame transforms the existing storefront into a recognisable urban presence, combining tropical vegetation, colour and cultural references with a clean architectural envelope. Large areas of glazing maintain a direct visual connection between the restaurant and the street.
THE LAYOUT
A compact social space.
Within a relatively compact footprint, the layout brings together an active bar, dining areas and the operational requirements of a professional kitchen. The existing ramp and storefront condition are integrated into the organization of the space.
Rather than separating these functions visually, the design allows the energy of preparation, service and dining to become part of the restaurant experience.
INTERIOR DESIGN
Culture in the details.
Graphic patterns, warm timber, vegetation and crafted details introduce layers of colour and character throughout the interior.
These elements are balanced by a more restrained architectural palette, allowing cultural references to become part of the space without turning them into decoration alone. Identity is embedded in the experience — from the façade to the smallest details.
