Thing I notice along the way.

Maison&Objet 2026

and what Made me stop.

New ideas, emerging voices and a few things I couldn't walk past without looking twice.

PARIS · SEPTEMBER 2026
Design in Motion.

There is a lot to take in at Maison&Objet.

Furniture, lighting, objects, materials, brands and new launches — hall after hall, all competing for your attention.

But this year, what stayed with me wasn’t one particular chair or lamp.

It was the feeling of change.

New ways of making, new materials, younger voices and spaces that asked you to experience design rather than simply look at it.

The September edition itself was built around this idea of movement: Maison&Objet Pulse, a fair looking towards emerging dynamics and possible futures for design. Maison & Objet

So instead of trying to remember everything I saw, these are the things that made me stop.

01
The Fair
Feel the Shift.

Maison&Objet is almost impossible to take in all at once.

Hall after hall of furniture, lighting, objects, materials and new collections — all competing for your attention.

But one space made me slow down: Feel the Shift.

More than what was being displayed, I was drawn to the experience itself — the scenography, the atmosphere and the way the space invited you to move through it and look a little closer.

It captured something I kept noticing throughout the fair: a sense of change.

New materials. New ways of making. New voices. And a growing interest in creating experiences around design, rather than simply displaying objects.

Feel the Shift made me stop.

02
Future on stage.

This was another part I was curious about.

Future On Stage puts emerging brands at the centre of the conversation — new voices exploring different materials, processes and ways of thinking about everyday objects.

What interested me wasn’t necessarily finding the next big thing.

It was seeing ideas while they’re still evolving.

Experiments, new approaches and designers willing to question familiar solutions.

A glimpse of what might come next.
03
The New.

Part of Maison&Objet is simply seeing what’s changing.

New collections, materials, colours, objects and ways of presenting them.

The things I photographed were usually the ones with something more — an unexpected material, a beautiful detail, an unusual proportion or simply a strong point of view.

But with so much novelty around you, I kept coming back to the same thought:

New is everywhere. Interesting is harder to find.

and then,
A Giant Flower.

One of the best things about visiting Maison&Objet during Paris Design Week is remembering to look beyond the fair.

Design was happening all over the city — in galleries, showrooms, exhibitions and installations — making the walk through Paris part of the experience itself.

And one of those moments completely stopped me.

Le Grand Bouquet by Uchronia, inside the Grand Palais.

A monumental flower emerging from the architecture around it — colourful, playful and almost surreal.

What I loved most was the relationship between the installation and the building. It didn’t feel like something simply placed inside a beautiful space. It felt like part of it.

A reminder that during Design Week, some of the best things to see are the ones you find once you leave the fair behind.

Definitely worth stopping for.
