On October 18, 2019, the 2ACAA Interaction Forum brought together architects and design professionals at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid for an international exchange of architectural ideas, practices and perspectives.
Conceived as a platform for dialogue across continents, the forum connected participants from Asia and Oceania, Europe, Africa, South and Central America, and North America, creating a space to explore how architecture responds to different cultural, social and environmental contexts.
Rather than conventional long-form lectures, participants were invited to present their perspectives through concise seven-minute interventions — encouraging a dynamic exchange of ideas across disciplines, cultures and geographies.
The conversations explored themes including architecture and culture, social evolution, education, social and environmental ethics, observational learning and contextual innovation.
At its core, the forum considered architecture not as an isolated discipline, but as something continuously shaped by place, culture and society. Bringing different perspectives into the same room offered an opportunity to examine both the differences and common questions influencing architectural practice around the world.
The event became a meeting point for exchanging professional experiences and exploring how architects working within very different contexts approach a shared challenge: creating more meaningful and responsive places to live.
