From May to August 2021, Design Studio IX at the School of Architecture and Design at PUCMM was structured around the ALACERO 2021 Steel Design Competition, using the competition brief as the foundation for the semester’s design process.

The 2021 edition was developed within the framework of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, a global agenda comprising 17 goals and 169 targets aimed at addressing social, environmental and economic challenges.

For the ALACERO 2021 competition, the selected theme was SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, inviting students to explore how architecture and steel construction could respond to contemporary challenges surrounding health, well-being and quality of life.
